Department of Chemistry

Peyton Shieh is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemistry at MIT. He received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. His current work, in close collaboration with Professors Jeremiah Johnson and Rafael Gomez-Bombarelli, focuses on methods to develop high-performance yet degradable/recyclable thermoset plastics. More broadly, he is interested in adapting tools from adjacent fields, from computational methods and biotechnology, to accelerate materials discovery. Peyton is committed to technology translation, and is a named inventor on more than 10 patents and patent applications.
