Dr. Francesco M. Benedetti is a postdoctoral associate in MIT’s Department of Chemical Engineering in the Zachary Smith Research Lab, working on advanced materials to increase energy efficiency and environmental sustainability of separation processes in the chemical industry. He received his PhD from the University of Bologna. Previous visiting scholar appointments include Stanford University and the University of Texas at Austin. He was recognized with the 2019/2020 MIT Energy Fellowship, and during his PhD he received seven international poster and travel awards at international conferences in the field of membrane science and technology. Francesco and his team are committed to bringing membrane technologies from the lab at MIT to the global market, and contributing to the future of sustainable energy.
